The Journey of My Life
– Pastor Paul Silway
Looking back, I can only say this — God has been faithful.
After 18 years of waiting, we finally moved into our own church premises in Pimpri.
And after 22 years, God gave us our own space in Pune too. These weren’t just buildings — they were dreams fulfilled, brick by brick, prayer by prayer.
How the Pune Church Began
It all began when I was attending a church at All Saints. But in my heart, I sensed a different call. And so, I stepped out in faith and started holding services at Ethel Gordon. We didn’t stay there long. Due to some challenges (I won't name anyone), the principal was asked to remove us. The day we left that place, we wept. It felt like a piece of our heart had been left behind. Still, we moved forward.
-
We found a new place at Darshan Hall in Camp (rented),
-
Then to St. Andrew’s School, where we had two services,
-
And also met at St. John’s School on Sundays.
From there, we shifted to SM Joshi Hall, but once again, we had to leave. At one point, we had nowhere to go.
So we humbly requested the Pastor at Shiloh Church to allow us to use their space. He graciously agreed, and we began renting it for our services. And then came a turning point — on 25th December 2013, we shifted to Kondhwa.
We didn’t have much money, but we saved every rupee, and by God’s grace, we bought our own land.
How the Pimpri Church Started
This journey began in 1991, inside a small home in Kharalwadi — Rajan’s house. Rajan was seriously unwell. Doctors had no answers, and medicine wasn’t helping. Someone told his mother about me — “Brother Paul Silway prays, and people are healed.” They invited me. The house was full of relatives, all anxious. I asked everyone to step out of the room, except the immediate family. I looked at his mother and said gently, “I will pray, and Rajan will be healed.” And that’s exactly what happened. Rajan sat up — healed. They were stunned, overjoyed. His mother, with tears in her eyes, said, “Please start your meetings here.” And so began our Pimpri church. From there, we moved — many times:
-
To Sister Madhuri’s house,
-
Then to Fernandes Hall near Gokul Hotel (1992),
-
To Rajan Complex,
-
Then to Anil Mangal Karyalaya (1995),
-
After that Mayur Mangal Karyalaya in Kalewadi,
-
Then Avinash Mangal Karyalaya,
-
Then Hare Krishna Mangal Karyalaya,
-
Until finally, on 1st February 2009, we moved into our own place at Rajwade Nagar, Kalewadi.
Jesus Is Lord Church
Though we officially registered as Jesus Is Lord Church Trust in 1997, we had already been called “Jesus For All” since 1992.
It was a long road. Sometimes uncertain. Often painful. But we were never alone.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To all the church members who journeyed with me through every high and low — thank you. You prayed, you stayed, you believed. You were the church, not just attendees.
In Closing...
I’m not a rich man. But I’m a very happy man. God has fulfilled every desire of my heart. I receive a simple monthly salary from the Ministry. I drive a small car — myself. No personal driver. Just me and my wife. That way, we get to talk freely, share our hearts — something that wouldn’t be as easy with someone else in the car. This is the journey God gave me. A journey of faith. A journey of miracles. And I’m still walking it — one day at a time. To God be all the glory.
